Sarah and Phil come from a long line of amazing weddings we have photographed, so we feel like our friendship with them goes way back. When they asked us to travel to their hometown of Minneapolis we were so excited! These two have such genuine and open hearts that they were a dream to photograph. Sarah may have been teased throughout the wedding weekend about how emotional she would get, but that is one of her most endearing qualities. She wears her heart on her sleeve. She loves deeply and truly cares about people. And Phil may at first seem like the quiet type, but when spending time and sharing life with the people he loves the most, the walls came tumbling down. We may have caught a tear or two from him as well. Sarah and Phil, you two are incredible and it was such an honor to be a part of your wedding day. Thank you for opening your hearts to us and allowing us to capture the most intimate moments on one of the most wonderful days of your life!

We are suckers for a good story. More and more we are finding that our couples are opting to have us tell even more of their story by inviting us to photograph their rehearsal dinners as well, and we love it! The rehearsal is such a casual environment and allows for more speeches, more intimacy, and in the case of Sarah and Brian’s rehearsal, many many more laughs. Having the opportunity to photograph rehearsal dinners also allows us to get to know a couple’s closest friends and family and gets everyone more comfortable with the presence of a camera, so that by the eventual “I do’s” we are simply a couple of old friends hanging out.

Speaking of good stories, it was at Sarah and Brian’s rehearsal dinner that we learned that the two originally met over some serious competition while playing for the World Adult Kickball Association, better known as WAKA. Need I say more? Here are a few from the evening.
