When Josh called us to ask if we would be available to photography his proposal to Hillary we jumped at the chance to tell this story. When sunk in moments later was the fact that he had planed on popping the question on top of an enormous ferris wheel. We are always up for a challenge and there is something thrilling about limitations that make us work even harder as a photographers. So, in effort to keep the secret, we wired ourselves up with two way radios so that we could communicate from the ground to the sky, put our camera gear in nondescript bags and slipped in line behind Hillary and Josh to buy a ticket for the big wheel. Having nearly missed the opportunity to jump in the carriage behind them, I laid low until I saw Hillary notice the huge sign below. After a couple of times around the two were greeted by family waiting in the wings and continued on to a store where Josh had reserved some clothes for Hillary to try on for their romantic dinner to follow. Staring at the engagement ring on her hand in disbelief and updating friends via frantically typed texts, the couple was glowing. We stopped for a few low light portraits on the way to the restaurant before discretely slipping back out the way we had arrived.
